The Blood Bank is closely monitoring the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and continues to carry out our lifesaving mission in our communities. The increasing need of blood and plasma products gains every day to support cancer patients, new mums and babies, people with immune deficiencies or blood diseases, and people who need surgery or have suffered trauma.

The COVID-19 pandemic poses more difficulties for the blood donation activities, which lead to blood shortages have been seen in hospitals across the country.

There is no data or evidence that this coronavirus can be transmitted by blood transfusion. In fact, there have been no reported cases of transfusion-transmission for any respiratory virus, including this coronavirus. Therefore, it is safe to donate blood, and we all are encouraged to donate so that blood is available for those patients who need.

Empathizing with that paint, Titan had organized the “Sharing is caring" blood donation day on Thursday 13th August 2020 with to encourage our members to donate, also promote spirit of giving among all members to ease the blood shortage currently while still strictly follow The Vietnamese Red Cross’s safety protocols for disease prevention and control regulations.

After this event, we were successfully added around 15,000 milliliters of blood from not only Titan members but also pass by guest to the blood bank.

We hope that with our small gesture like donating blood, could save someone’s life. We are proud to be a part of this meaningful activity.
